Quickbooks is software, developed and published by Intuit. Originally Intuit released software for individual financial management called Quicken. The software was incredibly successful and later led to the development of a similar program for small businesses, called Quickbooks. Quickbooks was initially released on DOS and was based on the Quicken code. The software became popular with small businesses as there was no formal training required to operate it. Soon after being released Quickbooks had claimed 85% of the small business accounting software market.
Fast forward to today; Quickbooks released their latest version in September 2015 and have made huge improvements to their software over the years.
